How To Talk About Climate Change

Session Nine

Welcome to Session Nine

Having successful climate conversations

We’re nearing the end of this master class, and by now, I hope you feel excited to activate change towards a better world. So excited, maybe, that you want everyone around you to join in on this journey as well! That is a wonderful feeling, but it’s also important to recognize that not everyone will be where you are.

In this session, I will share some tips on how to talk about climate change in a way that sparks curiosity and an interest to participate, instead of triggering fear, shame, or despair.

In this session:

  • Tips for having successful climate conversations with family and friends

  • The importance of recognizing we’re on different parts of this journey

  • How to inspire positive change

Homework:

Have a conversation

Homework for today is to simply have a climate conversation! Keep in mind what you just learned and choose someone you’d like to have a climate talk with. Afterward, reflect on how it went and if there’s anything you could do differently the next time.

Remember that perfection takes practice so keep going!

Attached below is a climate conversation cheat sheet to come back to for simple reminders.
